Last Saturday afternoon, as I went out the front door to pick up the mail, my sister’s tabby cat named Moses followed. Moses has beautiful orange stripes, clear green eyes, and tiny freckles on his nose. He’s a good-looking cat, yet he has a couple of quirks. Moses is very afraid of strangers. He also doesn’t like being held or petted — even by my sister Judy and me.

As I approached our mailbox that afternoon, a young woman whom I had never seen before was standing in front of it with her arms crossed. She seemed to be about twenty years old and had an angry expression on her face. “Hey, that’s my cat!” the woman suddenly yelled when she noticed Moses behind me. Then she leaned over and tried to grab our very startled pet. Fortunately, Moses was able to escape by running to the driveway and hiding underneath my car. (Keep reading)
