Good evening

Like snowdrops in the rain lining the roadside, the trickling of announcements and cautiously positive vibes emanating from the country’s gig economy are cheering despite still being locked down.

Today the Reading and Leeds Festival announcement that it plans to go-ahead in August with its sister events will have made certain sectors of our population very happy, not to mention all the industry that services these events, from rock bands to chip shop vans to local hotels.

Closer to home here in Lancashire, Lytham Festival has also announced its intent to forge forward.

A question mark may lie over whether planned headliner Diana Ross travels over to perform, but after being locked down for a year, it’s likely audiences would welcome a celebrity spoon player!

Covid-19 has done nothing if not made us realise what we are missing simply by coming together and enjoying ourselves.

With the Government hoping to lift all restrictions by June 21, such positivity is to be applauded - though as we have learned - anything can happen.

But here’s to the onset of hope.

I always love to hear your thoughts. You can email me at nicola.adam@jpimedia.co.uk.

Enjoy the rest of Wednesday.

Kind regards,

Nicola Adam - Deputy Editor
