James will not face Cavs: LeBron James will miss at least the next three games with a strained left groin, the Los Angeles Lakers announced on Thursday. That means James, who spent the previous four seasons in Cleveland, won't suit up against his old team, writes cleveland.com's Chris Fedor. The Cavaliers make their lone visit to play the Lakers on Sunday night -- the third stop on this current six-game road trip. It's also the final matchup between Cleveland and Los Angeles this season, with the Lakers winning James' official return on Nov. 21. Read more.

Nance will miss two-to four weeks: Larry Nance Jr. is expected to miss approximately two-to-four weeks with a sprained right MCL, writes Fedor. Nance was injured in the first quarter of Tuesday's loss against the Indiana Pacers and an MRI conducted Thursday confirmed the severity of the knee injury. Read more.

See the game through players' eyes: Fans will soon get to experience the game through the eyes of some the best players in the league, writes cleveland.com's Joey Morona. The NBA and Twitter announced a partnership that will allow users on the social media platform to watch a live “iso-cam” stream focusing on a single player during select games on TNT. Read more.

Cavs see potential reward of poor season: The Cavaliers remain the worst team in the NBA and have dropped 11 games in a row after falling in New Orleans, 140-124, on Wednesday. But after the loss, Fedor wrote about how they saw the reward that is potentially in front of them at the end of a miserable season: a chance to draft another superstar like Anthony Davis. "But Davis, who was the No. 1 pick in 2012 and the prize at the end of a horrible 21-45 season, is the kind of player the Cavs covet. The kind they used to have," Fedor wrote. "Davis gives the Pelicans hope, a reason for optimism despite organization flaws." Read more.

A resolution for more threes: For most of the season, the Cavaliers have settled for the mid-range jumper. But despite the 11-game losing streak, they have been more willing to shoot the 3-pointer than earlier this year. The Cavs were 14-for-30 from 3-point range in Wednesday night's loss to the Pelicans. Jordan Clarkson told Fedor that it's part of a mindset change the team has had to make. "In all of our practices and shootarounds we preach layups and 3-pointers," Clarkson said. "Try not to take too many mid-range jumpshots. That's just something we have been preaching these last couple of weeks." Read more.
