Good morning Marketer, better late than never, I suppose.
Google updated Funding Choices, its consent management tool for publishers, to collect opt-out requests from California residents and stay in compliance with CCPA. It’s also finally getting onboard with IAB Europe’s GDPR framework. Funding Choices integrates with Google Ad Manager and AdMob. “Funding Choices detects when a user from California visits a website, shows a CCPA message that allows the user to opt out of the sale of their personal information, and communicates the user’s choices with the publisher’s advertising partners,” Vegard Johnsen, senior product manager for ads privacy and safety at Google, wrote in a blog post. The integration with IAB Europe’s Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF) is underway and publishers can now start testing new IAB Europe TCF v2.0 messages to communicate with users on their sites.
