| Brands Should Brace for More States to Adopt Privacy Legislation | |
| | Good morning, The California Consumer Privacy Act began being enforced earlier this month. As those who have followed CCPA will tell you, there's still quite a lot of gray area associated with the wording of the California-based legislation. As my colleague, Rachel Winicov reported, the legislation's pathway to enforcement could inform how other states adopt their versions of privacy laws. The backlash facing the California legislation represents “the danger of going first in any law or policy area,” said Michelle Richardson, who directs the data and privacy project at the Center for Democracy and Technology, continuing, “There are going to be growing pains, and so it’s not necessarily a huge criticism.” Read the full story.
