Celebrate books and authors at the virtual 2020 Brooklyn Book Festival. From September 28 - October 5, we will welcome an array of national and international literary stars and emerging authors to celebrate books and literature in our Virtual Festival.  Over 100 discussions and programs will take place over 8 days with authors from every corner of the world.
 
Virtual Bookend Events kick-off Mon, Sept 28. These events, presented together with cultural and literary curators from across the city, run throughout the day, from lunchtime through the night shift.  Don't miss: Carousel Comics Performance, Marilynne Robinson presents "Jack", a New York Reading Series Taster Night, and a dawn reading of Marianne Moore from canoes on the Gowanus Canal, and more.
 
Virtual Children’s Day (Sat, Oct. 3). Children, families, and educators participate in a fun day filled with children’s authors and illustrators reading, performing and leading workshops and activities. Join Oliver Jeffers, Ben Clanton, Ibtihaj Muhammad, Meg Medina, Chris Grabenstein, plus others. Ages 2 - 12.
 
Virtual YA Out Loud (Sat, Oct 3) programming dedicated to today’s most popular and engaging writers for young adults.  Marie Lu, Stonewall-award winner Brandy Colbert, Leah Johnson, Kacen Callender and other stars of YA  tackle romance, politics, secrets and lies, and much more.
 
Virtual Festival Day (Sun, Oct 4) an unprecedented literary day packed with programming and covering every type of writing from non-fiction to fiction, poetry and graphic novels and more. Salman Rushdie, Vivian Gornick, Marlon James, Brit Bennett, Claudia Rankine, Edmund Wilson, Isabel Wilkerson, and many more. Start the day at 10am and finish at midnight -- it's book lovers field day, plus everyone has a front row seat.
 
Not to be missed, the Festival’s vibrant  Virtual Literary Marketplace is open for browsing and showcases publishers and independent booksellers from all over the country. See their featured books for sale and specially created incentives for BKBF readers.
