Poetry Daily is the internet’s original daily poem website. It is only because of individuals like you that we are able to promote contemporary poets, translators, presses, and journals each and every day. A gift of any amount right now will enable us to do the following this year: Provide our audience of over 570,000 annual readers with free access to today’s most exciting poetry; Offer free learning resources and writing prompts to teachers and general readers through our original essay series, “What Sparks Poetry,” where prominent contemporary poets explore the experiences and ideas that spark the writing of new poems; Broaden the reach of Poetry Alive!, our juvenile detention center writing program, where we teach poetry writing and reading to incarcerated youth in Fairfax County, Virginia; Support our ongoing and dedicated efforts to create our first full-time staff position; this position will help us expand our mission of providing free access to the best contemporary poetry. Poetry Daily is an independent 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 1997. Since then, we have featured over 9,000 poems and 350 independent presses, journals, reviews, and magazines.
