Community Project Nature Inspires Art Kits Return Finished collage piece to CAM by 5 PM on Saturday, June 12 Art Kits: $15 Explore themes of nature and landscape from CAM’s current exhibitions, Robert Johnson: Safe Places and Elizabeth Bradford: A House of One Room from your home! Each bag contains an activity booklet and art supplies to create your own works in their styles. Each bag will also contain one pre-cut nature shape, that you can decorate yourself and return to CAM for inclusion in a landscape collage that will be displayed in the Pancoe Art Education Center for the summer. This display will open on Saturday, June 19th. Your kit includes: CAM canvas tote Activity booklet with writing prompts Pre-cut nature shape (for community installation) Five watercolor pencils Paint brush Watercolor paper Mini magnifying glass Plastic Case Mini Notepad One free CAM admission pass Community Nature Collage: Each bag contains a shape inspired by something from nature. Decorate yours anyway you like. You can use supplies from this bag, or other art supplies such as markers, crayon, paint, or even collage together a design. It can be realistic or abstract – use your imagination and have fun! Enjoy a relaxing 2 hour painting class while you sip on a delicious beverage. Grab a drink from the CAM Café and join us in Pancoe! We'll show you how to paint a colorful Mimosa using oil paint. We will go over color mixing, applying paint and how to achieve realistic looking glass. Art Buzz is a fun art class that combines art-making and eating and drinking. Elizabeth Bradford: A House of One Room Gallery Talk with Amy Grant Saturday, May 15, 1 PM Free with admission; pre-registered required Join Wilmington gallerist Amy Grant for a tour of the Elizabeth Bradford exhibition. Amy is a classically-trained, visual artist and the owner of Art in Bloom Gallery. She is an active member of the Arts Council of Wilmington and New Hanover County; a board member of DREAMS Center for Arts Education; and a board member of the Historic Thalian Hall Center for the Performing Arts. Prior to moving to Wilmington, NC, she worked as a scientist in the Philadelphia area and traveled internationally and nationally taking the opportunity to explore art. She enjoys promoting local art via her gallery, visiting museums, artists' studios and local galleries wherever she travels, and appreciates the originality of the art and artists in Wilmington, NC. | |
