Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈 This year, we’re presenting a series of interviews with queer and trans art-world elders who continue to inspire and pave the way for future generations. Editor-in-Chief Hrag Vartanian kicks us off with architect and artist Nishan Kazazian, who shares how to avoid being put into a box in life and in art, among other nuggets of wisdom.

In the news, hundreds of protesters entered the Brooklyn Museum in a demonstration calling for a ceasefire in Gaza in the wake of the Israeli military’s attacks on Rafah. Police arrested at least 20 activists. Rhea Nayyar and Maya Pontone have the story below.

Read on for impressions of the Venice Biennale’s national pavilions, our LGBTQ+ reading list, Sarah Rose Sharp’s commentary on the flurry of Trump memes, and more.
