Dear John,

Today, we celebrate All Saints’ Day. On this Solemnity, the Church remembers the saints in Heaven—those who are canonized as well as the countless unnamed saints.

Over the past year and a half, we have been adding new Seasons and Feasts pages to our website. Today, we hope that you will visit our All Saints’ Day online resource: ewtn.com/allsaints.

On this page, we have included many questions and answers about All Saints’ Day. We also have a free eBook, Comfort from Scripture and the Saints. Featuring beautiful photography from the EWTN Vatican Bureau, this eBook includes both Scripture passages and quotes from the saints that will remind you that God is with us through every trial. He is always at our side.

And as we celebrate All Saints’ Day, we can look to the Communion of Saints as examples for us in every situation.

  • When the Truth is unpopular, we can follow the example of St. Paul to speak the Word of God.
  • If our children fall away from the faith, we can ask St. Monica to intercede.
  • When we need strength in the face of adversity, we can look to the martyrs—such as Maximilian Kolbe, Perpetua, and Felicity.
  • As we grow in our faith, we can ask the Blessed Mother to always point us toward her Beloved Son.

Truly, we have many examples and intercessors who can assist us in our daily lives, and we should take advantage of their help.

While we are focusing on the wonderful Communion of Saints, we can also remember that God wants each one of us to become holier—and grow in love for Him—every day. Mother Angelica said, “God has something very special in mind for you. He wants you to be a saint.”

May you have a blessed All Saints’ Day.
