| Last week, singer-songwriter Ryan Adams issued a public statement in the Daily Mail to apologize for what he referred to as “harmful behaviour” toward women throughout his career. “I will never be off the hook and I am fully accountable for my harmful behavior, and will be for my actions moving forward,” said Adams. The apology comes more than a year after several women, including musician Phoebe Bridgers, as well as his ex-wife, singer and actor Mandy Moore—to whom he was married for seven years—accused him of inappropriately pursuing them sexually and romantically. Yesterday, Moore responded to her ex-husband’s statement during an interview on The Today Show, saying that Adams has not reached out to her privately. Since Moore’s interview, a number of celebrities have responded on Twitter with messages of support, and we can understand why—because, frankly, she's awesome for not letting him off the hook. |
