CGI now at 700 employees in Lafayette but still has dozens of openings

by Adam Daigle | Acadiana business editor

Happy Friday, Acadiana business news readers. Let's get down to the business news of the day as you head into your weekend.

It's been a bit quiet on the tech sector front in Lafayette of late, but CGI dropped its update of its status in Lafayette on Thursday. Now at 700 jobs and openings for another 60, the company is also making headway in hiring homegrown talent and luring Acadiana natives who left the area back closer to home.

Over 1 out of every 3 of its recruits are hired through a college recruiting program from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and other institutions in Louisiana.

You can read the full story here.

Have a great weekend.
