FEATURED ARTIST!
Yvonne Zamora Vazquez
My name is Yvonne Vanessa Zamora Vazquez, I am a visual artist born and raised in Denver Colorado. Mainly I work  with fabric mediums,  incorporating both traditional New Mexican Colcha  with contemporary concepts to portray my cultural identity. My uncle Frank Zamora who is also a visual artist was the first to interest me in expressing myself through art. I am currently receiving my degree in Visual Arts and Art History earning my spot on the honor’s list. I have shown my work in both the state of Colorado and New Mexico, where I have successfully completed two years at The Spanish Colonial Arts Society Market as a Colchera. There, a piece of mine was purchased by The National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where it will remain in their permanent collection. I have also won an Honorable Mention Award on another piece which also won Market poster and will be the face of Spanish Market for 2023.

CHAC Gallery & Cultural Center was founded in 1978 by a group of visual and performing artists. The organization was established as a place where Chicano/Latino artists were provided with a venue to explore visual and performance art and promote and preserve the Chicano/Latino culture through the expression of the arts.

CHAC is an inclusive community of creatives that are dedicated to preserving, showcasing, educating and reflecting the essence of Chicano/a/x, Latino/a/x and other multicultural/multiracial communities.
