| | Cockburn Sports Hall of Fame 2024 Nominations close 4pm on Friday 15 December. The Hall of Fame currently recognises twenty-one elite local athletes and one sports administrator, with commemorative plaques on display at the City's administration building in Spearwood and at the Cockburn ARC.
First launched in 2004, the Hall of Fame includes athletes from a variety of sports, including AFL, gymnastics, lacrosse, tennis and sailing. It also recognises individuals in sports administrative roles, including officiating, coaching, governing, or working within the media. | | | WA Volunteer Service Awards 2024 nominations open In 2024 the Department of Communities aims to celebrate and recognise more volunteers and to do this they have created new award categories and simplified the nomination process for the WA Volunteer Service Awards, to thank and acknowledge volunteers that give their time and talents to their community. Nominations close at 5pm on Thursday 29 February 2024 with an online information session being held on Wednesday 13 December 2023 (registrations necessary). | Find out more |

| | | | Community Sporting & Recreation Facility Funding Grants opening soon. Applications for the 2024/25 DLGSC CSRFF Small Grants Round open on Thursday 1 February 2024. The Small Grants round is for projects with a total cost from $7500 and up to $500,000. Clubs must discuss their ideas for facility upgrades with both the City and the CSRFF team before submitting an application to the DLGSC. | Read more |

| | City Administration Christmas Closure The City Administration building will be closed from 4:30pm on Friday 22 December and will reopen at 8:30am on Tuesday 2 January 2024. For clubs seasonally hiring City facilities, please call (08) 9411 3444 for any emergency maintenance issues. | | Eligible Western Australian children aged 5 - 18 years can access up to $300 per financial year towards club fees, to assist them to participate in community sport. |

| The JSTA program helps young local athletes by providing financial assistance for travel to state or national competitions. |
