Welcome. Champion Clubs is a club development initiative created by the City of Cockburn, offering support and resources to local clubs so that they can become self-sustaining and create healthy, welcoming, and inclusive sporting environments.

Cockburn Sports Hall of Fame 2024
Nominations close 4pm on Friday 15 December.

The Hall of Fame currently recognises twenty-one elite local athletes and one sports administrator, with commemorative plaques on display at the City's administration building in Spearwood and at the Cockburn ARC.

First launched in 2004, the Hall of Fame includes athletes from a variety of sports, including AFL, gymnastics, lacrosse, tennis and sailing. It also recognises individuals in sports administrative roles, including officiating, coaching, governing, or working within the media.

New National Food Safety Standards

A new, mandatory food safety standard was recently introduced Australia-wide and took effect from Friday 8 December 2023. View the factsheet at Food Safety Management Tools factsheet (health.wa.gov.au). The standards will impact sport club canteens that handles:

• unpackaged food
• potentially hazardous food
• food that is ready-to-eat

If they have not already done so, Cockburn Club volunteers can access free Food Handling Training through the City's website by visiting Food Handling Training - City of Cockburn.

Each club canteen is now required to have a trained Food Safety Supervisor that is reasonably available and can give advice to other members handling food. Access training options by visiting Food safety supervisor training course (health.wa.gov.au).

City Administration Christmas Closure

The City Administration building will be closed from 4:30pm on Friday 22 December and will reopen at 8:30am on Tuesday 2 January 2024.

For clubs seasonally hiring City facilities, please call (08) 9411 3444 for any emergency maintenance issues. For non-urgent issues, complete a Community Venue Maintenance Request online.
