Welcome to the August edition of the City of Cockburn's Champion Clubs newsletter.
Our winter sports are mostly back up and running thanks to the many volunteers who have worked tirelessly to ensure the community can continue to participate in sport and recreation activities. With summer sports just around the corner we encourage clubs to reach out to the Recreation Services team for any assistance you may need, especially taking into consideration additional health and hygiene measures specific to your club/sport.

We think this article explains the situation well amidst more than likely one of the most difficult times for local sport ever.
Rewarding participation in junior sport doesn't make kids soft, it makes them come back This article outlines some interesting views on rewarding participation in sport; especially in a day where there are so many alternatives – whether that be other sports, video games, social media or other hobbies/pursuits.
