| Club Driven Facility Upgrades The City of Cockburn aims to maintain safe, accessible, and multi-use facilities for community groups and sporting clubs. At times, clubs/groups may wish to undertake modifications to a facility to improve their use of it, eg, due to changing membership or operational needs. The modifications may be large or small with the club either: • Fully funding the improvements, or • Funding a significant portion with the help of a City of Cockburn Capital Works Grant and/or funds from other sources. In an effort to streamline the process for clubs and to reduce the reliance on City officers, staff or contractors to undertake the work, the Club Driven Facility Upgrades (CDFU) process has been developed. This gives greater opportunity for clubs to obtain appropriate permissions and approvals to coordinate the work themselves with suitably qualified tradespeople. The CDFU process applies to both seasonally hired and leased facilities. For more information, or to request an information pack and application form, contact the Club Development Officer on 9411 3444 or email recreation@cockburn.wa.gov.au. |

| Australian Sports Commission - Volunteer Resource Hub The Australian Sports Commission is seeking support to build an online Volunteer Resource Hub and are seeking input and feedback from a range of volunteers across the country in a club volunteer management role by participating in a 30-minute session the week of Monday 3 July. Finding and keeping volunteers is becoming increasingly difficult for many clubs across the country. To support sporting clubs, organisations and volunteers across the country connect with resources, tools and information on everything volunteering, a new centralised website is being developed by the Australian Sports Commission with the help of each State and Territory Government. To ensure the website meets the needs of clubsclubs and sporting organisations, they are seeking insight not only into their role and volunteer activity but also help test the evolving prototype. You will be asked a range of questions on your experience finding and managing volunteers and then provided access to a prototype of the website for testing. The session will be recorded but used only for internal purposes and all information on those interviewed is kept private and confidential. To be part of this national project, contact James at DLGSC via email to everyclub@dlgsc.wa.gov.au for more information and to be put in touch with the ASC. |
