Dear Yogi,
For many of us, the thought of inversions can trigger a fearful response. It’s not surprising; for most people going upside down doesn’t come naturally. The road to a perfectly balanced Headstand is usually paved with a few falls!
But inversions don’t have to be panic-inducing. While we might associate them with Headstands and Handstands, there are lots of ways to get the benefits of being upside down without being a circus artist!
Inversions are yoga poses where the heart is higher from the ground than the head. So this includes poses like Dolphin, Supported Shoulder Stand, standing forward bends and even supported Legs up the Wall pose.
Explore the benefits of being upside down and try it in class!
Love,
The EkhartYoga team.
