Love (and the Tripledemic) is in the air...
Happy Valentine's Day, Baltimore! It’s my second day as a staffer with Technical.ly, and if you didn’t get a chance to read my Q&A with Technical.ly editor Sameer Rao, I'd love it if you read that before you head to bed.
Valentine’s Day is historically a celebration of love. We might all remember some iteration of the candy-gram program at school where some of us got more carnations, chocolate candies or sweet tarts than the others. It’s okay, though, if today was filled with grief, emails, Zoom calls or kids rendered homebound by one of the three gripping arms of what experts call the Tripledemic. Our CEO here at Technical.ly Chris Wink knows all about that.
If today was melancholy or filled with icky school-aged memories, you could check out What’s Your Grief, an online community that Baltimore founders Litsa Williams and Eleanor Haley developed to help people experiencing loss — which could be defined in a myriad of ways. Here’s an Instagram post they madefor their community of over 60K followers, myself included.
If you’re in more of a loving mood then I’ve got you with my article this evening (see below). I encourage you to celebrate your loved ones using screenshots. Do you know what I would love more than screenshots, Valentine’s Day cards or flowers, though? For this four-day work week everyone's talking about to happen, ha! There are some local leaders with mixed feelings.
