JP Morgan Chase and Co. may be headquartered in New York, but as the bank expands its market portfolio with a second location in the Upstate today, its bankers want to drive home the company’s commitment to establishing local roots. The company plans to open two more Greenville branches by January 2021.

Spartanburg Community College's Gaffney campus will welcome a Cherokee County School System to the executive director's chair in January following the retirement of Daryl Smith, the school's current executive director. Under Smith's leadership the campus established its Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Industrial Technology, Institute of Innovation and Early College for Cherokee County high school students.
Pickens County’s Hagood Mill Historic Site will host its annual Cherokee harvest festival Saturday, complete with native cooking, dancing and drumming demonstrations. The mill will also celebrate the launch of a new interpretive trail with a dugout canoe.
