| | MyChart chat fees? Happy mid-week, Baltimore. We're back from our July 4 holiday, and hope you're doing alright acclimating back to work. Here's something you might've missed if you were on vacation: According to an article from The Baltimore Banner, starting July 18, Johns Hopkins Medicine will begin charging a fee for sending certain messages through its online patient portal, MyChart. While most MyChart messages will remain free, this change aligns with billing practices in other medical systems and has been permitted by insurers due to the increased popularity of virtual healthcare services during the pandemic. We value your opinion and would like to hear your thoughts on this development. Do you think implementing a fee for sending certain MyChart messages is fair? How might this impact patient engagement and accessibility to healthcare providers through online platforms? Are there any technological components being overlooked in this conversation? Please share your insights by replying to this email. Your feedback will contribute to a meaningful discussion about the evolving landscape of healthcare technology. — Technical.ly Reporter Alanah Nichole Davis (alanah@technical.ly)
