Wizzo wizzo! Leslie Sbrocco is back with brand-new episodes of Check, Please! |
|
We've got some big news to share with you: Check, Please! Bay Area is returning with five new episodes, premiering September 1, at 7:30pm, on KQED 9!
The Check, Please! team has been hard at work making magic in the studio and in the field, meeting with hungry locals and visiting their favorite food spots across the Bay. From Saratoga to El Sobrante, hoagie heaven to the Bavarian beer hall, we can't wait to introduce you to your next go-to local joint. We're kicking things off on Thursday, at 7:30pm, with some high-flying action, as we celebrate the longest-running play in San Francisco history, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, just before it takes its final bow. Ready your best dress robes and find your seat on the Hogwarts Express, as members of the cast and crew join host Leslie Sbrocco to take you on an enchanted journey through their Prophet-approved picks for the best places to eat in the city by the Bay. |
|
First, 620 Jones, located just blocks from the Curran Theatre, home to Cursed Child, is the go-to place to sip on specialty cocktails, sample globally inspired bar bites, and experience the tranquility of this unexpected urban oasis. Then, Fort Mason's Radhaus offers the ultimate "Kalifornien" Bavarian Beer Hall experience. After, jet from Union Square to the streets of Paris without a portkey to visit Café de la Presse, a classic French bistro that marries familiar favorites with an old-world feel. Finally, reporter Cecilia Phillips pops by local mainstay Thatcher's Gourmet Popcorn to sample some of their 32 unique flavors. (Fun fact: Their cheddar-caramel mix is one of the Curran Theatre's most popular concession snacks!) |

We're offering you a small sneak peek of just some of the dishes we're digging (plus the diners we met along the way), but fair warning: We wouldn't look at this mouthwatering line-up on an empty stomach! |
