Now we have a little bit of distance from the outbreak itself…what are the longer-term implications? |
| Dear Reader, The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic began in November 2019 in Wuhan, China. From there it spread west to Milan, Italy and east to Seattle, Washington. The virus mutated in Italy, then spread to New York, where it hit viciously in March 2020. By the end of that month, Australia had over 4,500 cases and 19 deaths. We closed our borders on 27 March. Eventually it spread to the entire world, from London to Lima. Even now, the virus is out of control in Brazil and India. Over three million have died. But let’s do a thought experiment. Let’s play the tape forward. Now we have a little bit of distance from the outbreak itself…what are the longer-term implications? For the world economy. For investors. And for Australia in particular? We’ve put together this video, which contains some rather startling conclusions. Click here to watch now. Regards, James Woodburn, Group Publisher |
