A survey carried out by Deloitte Access Economics and the Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association claims that 5G will lead to productivity improvements that will be worth $65 billion to the Australian economy by 2023 — the equivalent of 3.1% of GDP — but named no specific industries which would contribute to this massive increase.

Australia’s Deakin University says it is “pushing the boundaries of what is possible between human interactions and artificial intelligence” with an investment of almost $33 million in its new Applied Artificial Intelligence Institute (A²I²).

Data centre company Equinix is collaborating with UK-based global law firm HFW in a move it says is aimed at building out the firm’s digital edge in key markets including Melbourne, Dubai, London, Hong Kong and Paris.
