Encouraged by her parents at a young age with oil painting lessons and a professional water color set while growing up in NY's Hudson Valley, Christine Debrosky always knew that she would be involved in art. Although formally trained, the access to world class museums and galleries for study and inspiration was her real art education.
A move to Arizona allowed her to learn more about her favorite subject....the dance of sunlight.
Knowing that the only way to learn about the high desert landscape was to work en plein air in all seasons, and times of the day, she set out to do so , daily for weeks at a time.
Although she has worked in many media, her work in pastel has garnered rainbows of ribbons in shows from coast to coast in the US, and in Italy, France, and Russia. Coming full circle, and today also working in oil, her career has steadily progressed, showing with such prestigious groups as Oil Painters of America, the Pastel Society of America, and the American Impressionist Society.
She has earned signature status with American Women Artists, the Pastel Society of America, the Pastel Society of the West Coast, "Distinguished Pastellist", the American Impressionist Society, and has been named to Who's Who in American Art,andWho's Who of American Women. As a presenter, she has been invited to show her techniques to attendees at the Plein Air convention in Santa Fe, and the International Association of Pastel societies in Albuquerque numerous times.
