Coocoo for cocoa-snuff: FDA puts the kibosh on a bad idea

There are many types of illicit drugs out there, but a growing number of entrepreneurs believe there is money to be made in creating “legal” versions of popular recreational substances. No, we’re not just talking about shady gas station pills, we’re talking about “Coco-Loko,” the world’s first “snortable chocolate.” Designed to resemble a certain powdery inhalant, Coco-Loko gives users a chance to eat their chocolate through their noses as opposed to chewing it.

Despite the enthusiasm of the company behind the brand, however, the FDA quickly put a stop to the product before things spiraled out of control. Now, you can barely find any references to Coko-Loko online after retailers scrubbed the product from their stores. It might be for the best though, as many reviewers described it as little more than “headache-inducing.” Sheesh.

Apparently, the chocolate powder itself wasn’t very tasty, either.
