Cinemas in talks to reopen cinemas under new lockdown regulations

Movie fans will soon be able to experience the magic of the big screen again after cinemas were closed three months ago due to the national lockdown. During an address on Wednesday President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that cinemas would be allowed to reopen during lockdown Level 3.

Nu Metro cinemas are looking forward to welcoming back patrons and said in a statement to Channel24 that they "join the local industry in celebrating the thrilling news that cinemas can again reopen." The cinema chain said that it is currently collaborating with competitors on a co-ordinated industry opening.
