Power Device Released by Renesas Enables Safe Power Distribution in Next-Gen E/E Architectures

Power device released by Renesas enables safe power distribution in next-gen E/E architectures. The announcement came for an Intelligent Power Device (IPD) that the company is saying is a safe and flexible power distribution system in automotive vehicles.

The IPDs are addressing next-generation requirements for Electric/Electronic (E/E) architectures. The latest device is the RAJ2810024H12HPD and is available in a small TO-252-7 package. The compact size of the device reduces mounting areas by as much as 40% compared to the traditional TO-263 package product.

The Power Module is Getting a New Package

This week we are discussing power modules and the latest innovations.

Sooner or later there had to be a change from mechanical circuit breakers to electrical ones. The semiconductor is fast becoming a powerhouse to the mechanical world, but also in the electronics grid function.

The low conduction of the electric power switch is offering longer life and better conduction of the high-voltage systems found in all renewable energy systems and the utility grid in general.

The uses for an electric circuit breaker are endless and have been just waiting in the wings for a bi-directional, top and bottom cooling system that is as thermally aware as any temperature sensor. This week we showcase just such a device.

Take a deeper dive into the future of the grid, for renewable energy, and for the general utility systems that are so deeply in need of upgrades to the aging infrastructure.

In the new year we will be asking for opinions, what would you like to see, more editorial or less, more of a particular topic, or less? Let us know. Reach out to the Product Editor
