Embedded World and the IoT Band Wagon

This week Circuit Cellar experts there was something different at Embedded World There was a major push for the upstarts in embedded systems and

electronics. The smaller companies had been advertised just as much as the giants in embedded electronics. Some of the many smaller companies are outfitting their products with processors from the giants like TI, and Renesas, and some of the giants are outfitting their products with smaller companies' components. It's an exciting time, not the least of which is the Internet of Things sector.

It's crowded out there and not for the faint of heart to push a new IoT system. Whether it is an SBC, SiP, or CoM everyone is offering IoT at the edge, and more support.

There is a rush to offer many years of support, onsite and dedicated. The IDE's swirl and what were the

most sought-after products yesterday are now having to offer three to five years of dedicated support for their IoT-embedded products.

Keep an eye on this space as reports develop.

In the new year we will be asking for opinions, what would you like to see, more editorial or less, more of a particular topic, or less? Let us know. Reach out to the Product Editor
