Technologic Systems Introduces the TS-7970 an Industrial Single Board Computer to its Lineup

Technologic Systems recently introduced a new single-board computer for industrial applications based on an i.MX6 NXP CPU.

The TS-7970 is running on an NXP i.MX6 CPU based on an ARM Cortex A9 core. The company has claimed the system can be deployed across a wide range of applications.

Embedded Systems on the Rise

Embedded systems continue to surge in popularity, thanks in part to ongoing rapid growth and developments in the Internet-of-Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) industries.

Embedded systems are fundamental to IoT technology, and are also increasingly deployed with AI and machine learning (ML) capabilities. The fast evolution of these sectors has resulted in a corresponding surge of growth in embedded industries.

A major driver of this growth is the widespread adoption of embedded technology for use in controlling and monitoring equipment, plant, and machinery operations.

And the rise of IoT, AI, and ML has only further accelerated these implementations: networks of smart machinery capable of learning new tasks are increasingly common solutions on the factory floor.

Growth is likewise fostered by healthy competition in the market. There are 34 major players in the embedded systems sector and an overabundance of smaller companies.
