Why the Matter Standard Matters

Winding down from CES 2023, when everyone seems to be returning to the world from the pandemic, it is not a wonder that companies like Amazon are announcing the Matter standard really does matter.

In a unified system of interoperability, the Matter standard does a number of design and development bonding routines. Hundreds of companies are now on board with the standard, and it is finding its way into places such as Alexa and Siri.

But even more than that industrial applications are already ramping up to use this open source unifying collective of devices, that will make changing a smart light bulb simple again.

And simplification is the catchword of all things Matter. To make life simple for consumers, manufacturers, networks, and developers is what the standard is all about. It means a great deal to be able to buy from your favorite retailer or manufacturer because they all work with the same IoT software and devices.
