OnLogic has launched the Helix 511 Edge computer with up to four serial ports, in a small, fully solid state, fanless form factor, engineered for tough industrial environments.

The Helix 511 Edge is designed for rugged uses, running a range of Intel 12th Generation processors, from Celeron up through Core i7.

Renesas to Acquire Sequans to Boost IoT Technology Offerings

Renesas is acquiring Sequans, a leading Cellular Internet of Things (IoT) Technology company to offer more comprehensive IoT solutions than before.

The move was made just this past week, through a tender offer, solidifying Renesas’s hold on its IoT solutions base. The two companies have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

Internet of Things Has Massive Growth

As the world moves farther away from the pandemic, it is easier

to analyze what took place in the technology markets. Covid-19 helped drive growth in many technology markets including Internet of Things (IoT) markets.

The pandemic brought into focus the need for remote and wearable healthcare devices. The need for patients to be able to monitor vital signs on a regular daily or hourly basis became apparent. IoT found a home in those markets and the growth has been staggering ever since.

According to Grand View Research, the Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) for the IoT markets is expected to be 12.6% from 2023 to 2030. In 2022 the global IoT market valuation was

$220 Billion, with huge growth over the two-year period from 2020 to 2022 encompassing the pandemic, and over all tech growth. IoT just doesn't seem to be slowing down.
