Battery-Free Leak Sensor Taps Nordic’s BLE SoC
A battery-free, self-powered leak detection device has been released by Canadian technology company, AquaSensing. “Leak Sensor 1.0” uses Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF52832 Bluetooth 5.2/BLE multiprotocol System-on-Chip (SoC). It also uses a proprietary sensor that acts as both a power source and a sensor for detecting water leaks.
Secure Tri-Radio Device Targets IoT
NXP Semiconductors has announced the IW612, what it claims as the industry’s first secure tri-radio device to support the Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and 802.15.4 protocols. The new device enables seamless, secure connectivity for smart home, automotive and industrial use cases, and supports the Matter connectivity protocol.
