As the automotive sector moves rapidly towards a new era of fabrication and technology, the partnerships between companies building microelectronics and car technology manufacturers are of course growing. The landscape in the use of microcontrollers is growing at a meteoric rate, jumping tens of billions every year.

In the car itself, and now in the trucking industry, the use of the microcontroller is becoming a necessary use case in motor drives, traction control, and infotainment. Navigation systems and safety systems, are becoming commonplace, as are cars that can communicate on several levels.

Communication and connectivity is one area where specific controls would find a solid home, and hence call into play the microcontroller. The power systems in the latest electric vehicles, are being drastically changed, as new battery technology appears in the market place.

Many experts, including TrendForce are saying that while battery technology advancements are happening quickly, many control systems are lagging a bit behind the growth. Causing a bottleneck in the industry. But overall growth is a constant in the microcontroller sector.

The companies making these advancements are seeking out the fabricators, and builders of cars, cross-technology partnerships are developing in a way that is bringing control systems into a new place in the industry.

The experts are fairly certain this trend will not slow down anytime soon.
