Low-Cost MCUs Feature Wireless Connectivity
STMicroelectronics (ST) has released its STM32WB50 Value Line wireless MCUs that are a full and pin-compatible derivative of ST's STM32WB55 SoC. The device was created to serve cost-sensitive connected devices that need to support BLE, ZigBee 3.0 or OpenThread. The devices offer a good link budget from 100dB in BLE mode up to 104dB in 802.15.4 mode.
Blood Pressure Measurement Solution Uses MCU Sensor Hub
Maxim Integrated has introduced a solid-state blood-pressure monitoring solution to more conveniently track this critical health indicator. Comprised of a complete integrated optical sensor module, a MCU sensor hub and a sensing algorithm, the MAX-REFDES220# optical blood-pressure trending solution can be embedded into smartphones or wearables.

Effective PCB Prototyping Requires the Right Partnership
There are many pressures driving today’s electronic system designs. To be successful it’s essential for electronic system designs to make use of rapid, reliable and cost-effective PCB prototyping and assembly services.
MCU Blends Advanced Security and Bluetooth 5
Renesas Electronics has introduced the RX23W, a 32-bit MCU featuring Bluetooth 5.0 for IoT endpoint devices such as home appliances and healthcare equipment. The new RX23W is based on Renesas’ RXv2 core, which provides high computational performance with improved FPU and DSP functions and operates at a maximum clock frequency of 54MHz.
TRACE32 Adds Support for Arm CoreSight SoC-600
Lauterbach has announced the addition of support for SoC-600 to their TRACE32 debug tool. The Arm Debug Interface (ADIv6), more commonly referred to as SoC-600, is the next generation of processor and architecture independent debug interface specification from Arm.
Bluetooth-Enabled ECG Monitor
Brian Millier has written articles in the past about projects that use Cypress Semiconductor’s PSoC MCUs. Here, he explores the latest offerings from this MCU family, the PSoC6 5LP MCU. In this project article, Brian selects the Cypress CY8CPROTO-063-BLE to build a Bluetooth-enabled ECG monitor.
