Measurement in Automotive Sectors


Many high-end vehicles now have hundreds of sensors monitoring everything from interior lights to braking. And there is no slowing of the addition of sensors - especially in driving assistance areas.

More efficient means to test sensors of all kinds are becoming a necessity, as cars become more software-defined. Avenues to things like hiding radar sensors, to unobtrusive rear camera mountings, are fast becoming standards. The technology behind sensors is advancing rapidly, and what sensors are being used now, will not be sufficient to carry a load of safety and luxury components three years from now. Enter the measurement equipment.

Radar on cars will become standard very quickly, as more and more cars become safety equipped and driver assist becomes a critical feature of all vehicles. Radar testing equipment in the automotive industry is becoming more widely available as the need for this testing platform grows.

The radome tester is finding its way into many an automaker toolbox of testing equipment, as is a transportable radar chamber on wheels. It is mobile and more, as the development of artificially generated objects during radar development, for testing distance and size, and avoidance systems become a standard item on cars and trucks.
