The Circular Economy Investment Fund, administered by Zero Waste Scotland, offers investment for SMEs based in Scotland and supports work that will deliver circular economy growth. £18 million is available as grant funding to small and medium-sized enterprises that are helping to create a more circular economy. 

This is a funding opportunity for businesses and organisations in Scotland working in all business and social economy sectors.

Net Zero Fund is Open for Applications Now!

Business Gateway Fife is administering the fund which is a non-repayable grant of up to £3,000 to help businesses make progress towards net zero carbon emissions.

Eligible businesses include SMEs based in Fife. Businesses whose main base is outside Fife can use the grant to improve the premises they have in Fife or create green jobs in Fife. All projects must be completed by 31st March 2023.

Cyber Security Boosted With Training To Help Safeguard Organisations From Attack.

A £500,000 contract to extend cyber resilience training to more than 250 organisations across the country has been awarded by the Scottish Government.

The grant will enable the Scottish Business Resilience Centre (SBRC) to run online and in-person workshops for public services and third sector health, housing, and social care bodies to ensure they are better prepared and protected.

The 2023 Fife Business Awards have been officially launched and are now accepting applications and nominations in 13 categories.

Hundreds of businesses have enjoyed free publicity and promotion and enhanced workforce engagement and pride just from taking part in the Fife Business Awards, while those that have gone all the way to success have been able to use their Fife Business Award Winner logo to ‘sell’ themselves to prospective customers and employees.

How to Submit Effective Business Proposals with Good Information Governance

NHS Fife’s Information Governance and Security Department is working with Business Gateway Fife to develop a range of new workshops to help local businesses.
 
The sessions, which are currently being finalised, will highlight the importance of high-quality confidence and assurance documentation and how local businesses can use this knowledge to submit effective proposals for contracts in the healthcare sector.

This is a competitive funding competition to help Scottish businesses develop innovative solutions that can support the de-carbonisation of heavy-duty vehicles and Scotland’s green recovery.

The Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Centre (IBioIC)'s Feasibility projects provide members with the opportunity to tap into the expertise of Scotland’s academics to assist with a biotech-focused proof of concept study to support a future funding application for a larger scale research work programme.

Feasibility projects should focus on innovative applications of industrial biotechnology and address a real market need or commercial opportunity through collaborative knowledge exchange and research between industry members and at least one of Scotland’s talented higher education institution (HEI) research teams.

Fast-track Joinery Training Programme Launched For The Second Year

CR Smith and Fife College have joined forces to run its pioneering fast-track training programme for would-be joiners for a second successive year. 

Specifically designed to help more people wanting to enter the joinery profession, the successful collaboration last year led to five trainees securing a full-time position at CR Smith, Scotland’s leading home improvements company, as an adult apprentice.

Rural Skills Scotland is recruiting for its Grounds for Growth programme for Kirkcaldy and South West Fife starting on 22nd August 2022.

This is a five-week training course aimed at those who are currently unemployed and offering training and practical skills required to work outdoors in the rural sector. The training will include Brush Cutter and Strimmer, Emergency First Aid + F, Manual Handling and Health and Safety.
