Mayor's Message

Welcome to the February edition of Wanneroo Link.

It is set to be a busy month in the City, with several exciting events coming up.

The City’s Community Art Awards and Exhibition is on until 14 April at the Wanneroo Gallery. The exhibition features over 150 artworks in a variety of categories including painting, works on paper, sculpture, and a brand new category of photo, film and digital media.

Our events season is in full swing, with Symphony under the Stars on this Saturday 26 February, followed by Wanneroo Festival on Saturday 19 March.

I am particularly looking forward to the upcoming Wanneroo Business Expo on Thursday 17 March. The partnership between the City and the Wanneroo Business Association celebrates the entrepreneurial spirit and critical contributions our local businesses make to the success and vibrancy of our community.

Make your voice heard to help fund Alkimos pool

The City of Wanneroo has launched a new community Campaigning Toolkit to help secure additional funding for the proposed Alkimos Aquatic and Recreation Centre.

The toolkit includes letter templates, images, key contacts and other materials the community can use to help generate support and secure additional funding for the project.

Community Art Awards and Exhibition on now

Visit the Wanneroo Gallery to see the inspiring and innovative works currently on display as part of the rescheduled City of Wanneroo 2020 Community Art Awards and Exhibition. If you can't make it to the Gallery, take the virtual tour on the City's website.

The Great Recycling Challenge

Once again, our friendly community waste education officers will hit the streets as part of the City of Wanneroo's Great Recycling Challenge. The household education campaign urges residents to 'recycle right' to be in the running for a share of prizes.

Sustainability in the City

Did you know that each year the City of Wanneroo plants approximately 3,000 new trees in parks, streetscapes and residential verges? Or that the City offers a free verge tree planting service every winter? Greening your verge in 2022 is as easy as filling out a simple online form.

Last days of Aquamotion's Freebie February

There are just days left to take advantage of Wanneroo Aquamotion's free membership upgrade!

New members who join Aquamotion this February will receive a free membership upgrade for up to 12 months. Sign up for either gym, group fitness or aquatics and receive a second option at no extra cost, or sign up for two options and get the third free. Terms and conditions apply.

Join us for Symphony Under the Stars!

Perth Festival is bringing the party to Yanchep’s Splendid Park for Symphony Under the Stars, a free, family-friendly concert featuring the incredible Perth Symphony Orchestra.

Join us for this sunset concert from 5pm on Saturday 26 February.

Wanneroo Business Expo

The Wanneroo Business Association is bringing a buzz to Mindarie this March!

Join the local business community on Thursday 17 March for a day of networking and building connections, with over 500 attendees expected through the doors.

COVID-19 update

In line with the State Government’s Level 1 public health and social measures, capacity limits and proof of vaccination requirements are now in place at selected City facilities, such as Aquamotion and Kingsway Indoor Stadium.
