Mayor's Message

Happy New Year, and welcome to the first Wanneroo Link of 2022.

I was very proud to officiate at three citizenship ceremonies held on Australia Day. While this year’s event was split into three smaller ceremonies, in line with current COVID safety measures, the City had the notable honour of conferring citizenship on the most people in Western Australia on Australia Day.

We welcomed over 550 people from 60 countries, with the ceremonies held at Peter Moyes Anglican Community School in Mindarie.

Four of our amazing residents were also recognised with City of Wanneroo Australia Day Awards for their commitment to enhancing the City through their leadership and work in the community. Read more about the incredible achievements of our award winners below.

City recognises community champions

Four residents were recognised with City of Wanneroo Australia Day Awards for their contributions to the local community at the City's citizenship event on Wednesday 26 January.

Mayor Tracey Roberts congratulated the award recipients and thanked them for their commitment to enhancing the City through their leadership and work in the community.

Clear out your clutter this February

Get rid of the bulky unused items around your home at the City of Wanneroo’s Community Waste Drop-Off Weekend on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 February 2022.

You can get rid of a range of items that will be re-used, recycled or disposed of responsibly, including tyres, clothing, e-waste, bulk cardboard and polystyrene.

Reach your fitness goals with Aquamotion's Freebie February

New members who join Wanneroo Aquamotion this February will receive a free membership upgrade for up to 12 months!

Sign up for either gym, group fitness or aquatics and receive a second option at no extra cost, or sign up for two options and get the third free. Terms and conditions apply.

Have your say on Alkimos Aquatic Recreation Centre

There are only a few days left to have your say on the concept plan for the Alkimos Aquatic and Recreation Centre.

Local Heritage Survey

The City is currently seeking nominations for places of heritage significance for potential inclusion in the updated Local Heritage Survey.

Check out the new interactive map listing all the places in the City's existing Local Heritage Survey and let us know what you would like to include.

Quinns Rocks Summer Sideshow

Roll up, roll up! We’re bringing the fete to your door for free!

Experience all the fun of the fair, without the hefty entry fees or ticket prices. Enjoy live music, face painting, rides and inflatables, and food trucks serving delicious local produce.

Landsdale Sunset Sounds

Enjoy the amazing atmosphere and roving entertainment at this free, family-friendly concert, featuring Perth bands Brooks and Switch! There will be face painting and rides for the kids, plus a range of tantalising food truck treats.

Head to Warradale Park in Landsdale from 5pm on Saturday 19 February 2022.

COVID-19 update

From Monday, 31 January 2022, the State Government is expanding proof of vaccination requirements to include a wider range of venues.

This includes selected City facilities, such as Aquamotion and Kingsway Indoor Stadium, and means that from 31 January, all visitors to these facilities will need to provide proof of vaccination to enter the premises.
