'The Summer of Super Bowl': Gov. Jeff Landry and Mayor LaToya Cantrell told media gathered at the Saenger Theatre on Tuesday that public safety and infrastructure would be a major focus before the Super Bowl comes to New Orleans early next year. Tony McAuley has the details.
Where's the money? The New Orleans Sewerage & Water Board emerged from the legislative session as a significant priority, hoping to get $29 million in capital outlay funding. The final budget, however, didn't include anything. Ben Myers has the story.
Illegal chopping: A live oak tree on St. Charles Avenue adorned with Mardi Gras beads was unceremoniously — and illegally — chopped down this weekend. Neighbors were aghast to find a nothing but a stump where the tree, which was planted in 2008, had been. Alex Lubben has the story.
