Construction on the $20 million William H. Jones Global Business and IT Center was completed one month ahead of schedule and under budget, Columbia International University officials said. Ground was broken on the building in May 2018.

Economic conference to be held Dec. 3

A statewide economic forecast will be presented at the 39th annual Economic Outlook Conference at the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business. Industry leaders will also address regional and national market trends.

Business bootcamp aims to aid entrepreneurs

The inaugural Business Bootcamp Conference, to be held Nov. 1-2, was created by Columbia native and serial entrepreneur Raquel M.R. Thomas. Workshops will teach skills including marketing, branding, business plan and budget creation, and leadership.

Parts of 6 S.C. counties in extreme drought

The U.S. Drought Monitor has moved parts of six S.C. counties, including Richland and Lexington, into the extreme drought category. Certain livestock farmers in those counties can apply for relief payments.

Medal of Honor foundation chooses museum site

The National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation has chosen Arlington, Texas, for its future museum a year after rebuffing Mount Pleasant. The foundation said it chose Arlington based on location, size, visitors and community support.
