2025 MIABC Risk Management Conference

The MIABC's annual Risk Management Conference is held each spring and is open to all staff of MIABC members, partners, First Nation and non-member local governments. The conference provides an overview of the basic tenets of risk management, as well as presentations and workshops on more advanced topics. The conference serves as a platform for gathering and exchanging knowledge, featuring a deliberately diverse agenda covering a wide range of topics, from technical, department-specific information to more universal themes.    Best of all, it provides an excellent networking opportunity for attendees to make connections and socialize with their counterparts from other regions.

Conference Pricing
All in-person ticket options include access to two days of in-person sessions, conference materials, breakfasts, coffee breaks, lunches and the Golden Chips and Gatsby Dreams event.

MIABC Members:  $475 (Early Bird: $425)
Non-MIABC Member: $825

MIABC members can use their available Risk Management Grant funds to pay for registration fee and travel expenses and staff of First Nations governments are eligible to register for the conference at the MIABC member rate!

We offer a portfolio of programs in the area of health, safety and emergency management:
 
In the online Certificate in Environmental and Occupational Health program you will learn about the latest occupational health and safety regulations related to workplace health and safety, strategies for meeting the health needs of employees in the workplace, and how to manage the impacts of the workplace on employee safety and the environment. Three intakes per year: September, January and May.
 
The Emergency Management for Organizational Continuity micro-certificate is an online asynchronous program that equips you with the skills to prepare for a range of crises, ensuring business continuity and operational resilience in times of turbulence. Relevant for those working in any sector: public, private, or non-profit. Take all four 12-week courses in any order, or just one or two. Next start date: May 2025.
 
The Organizational Preparedness and Adaptability micro-certificate is a six-week online program that explores fundamentals of business continuity planning and emergency management. This programs covers how to plan for, and maintain, business continuity during crises such as extreme weather events, supply chain disruptions or natural disasters. Next start date: March 2025.
