The Crisis Communication for Public Relations Professionals micro-certificate is a 12-week program designed for communicators seeking to enhance their skills and expertise to develop, implement and assess robust crisis communication plans. Next start date: Jan 20, 2025.
The Skill Building for Public Relations micro-certificate is a 12-week program designed for new practitioners who want to boost their confidence, credibility and skills in the field of public relations. Upon completion, you will possess job-ready skills and a deeper understanding of your career path within the public relations profession. Next start date: Feb. 24, 2025.

In the online Certificate in Environmental and Occupational Health program you will learn about the latest occupational health and safety regulations related to workplace health and safety, strategies for meeting the health needs of employees in the workplace, and how to manage the impacts of the workplace on employee safety and the environment. Three intakes per year: September, January and May.
The Emergency Management for Organizational Continuity micro-certificate is an online asynchronous program that equips you with the skills to prepare for a range of crises, ensuring business continuity and operational resilience in times of turbulence. Relevant for those working in any sector: public, private, or non-profit. Take all four 12-week courses in any order, or just one or two. Next start date: February 2025.
The Organizational Preparedness and Adaptability micro-certificate is a six-week online program that explores fundamentals of business continuity planning and emergency management. This programs covers how to plan for, and maintain, business continuity during crises such as extreme weather events, supply chain disruptions or natural disasters. Next start date: March 2025.

The Essential Soft Skills Training micro-certificate is a 6-week, online program that provides learners with foundational soft skills such as communication, creativity, productive conflict resolution, self-awareness, social intelligence, problem solving, conflict management, and team-building. SPRING 2025 Elective Course Highlight:
PADM 210 Management Fundamentals As the course title (Management Fundamentals for Local Government Professionals) suggests, the course is an introduction to the basics of people-leadership. The target audience is managers/supervisors who are early in their people-leadership career as well as those who aspire to be people-leaders in local government. *Offered in person in a two-block format from Jan 23-25 and Mar 6-8 at the Ramada Hotel in Kelowna.

Cap U Local Government courses are three-credit university courses, which also provide credit towards Board of Examiners Certificates, the CMC (Certified Municipal Clerk) designation and other professional development program requirements.
