"We will continue cooking" A facility operated by Chef José Andrés’ non-profit organization, World Central Kitchen (WCK), was badly damaged during a round of Russian missile attacks in Kharkiv, Ukraine. In the past month, Andrés’ humanitarian kitchen has put much of its focus into feeding refugees who are fleeing war-torn Ukraine from the invading Russian army. The celebrity chef told the media last month that WCK had provided more than 4 million meals to refugees since the invasion began. WCK CEO Nate Moss posted video from the scene, and announced that four of their restaurant's staffers had been wounded. At least one other person was killed. “The WCK team and our fellow Ukrainians are unnerved but safe after a missile attack on a restaurant in Kharkiv," wrote Andrés in a tweet. "Giving food in the middle of a senseless war is an act of courage, resilience, resistance…and we will continue cooking.” In an interview on Monday with MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell, Andrés addressed the attack and vowed to continue feeding Ukrainians. He assured viewers that his organization has set up over 400 kitchens, and while a majority are in Ukraine, there are others in surrounding countries. “We have thousands of people working with us. We are doing 320,000 meals a day, already reaching 12 million meals,” he continued. “We have been bringing into and distributing inside Ukraine over 7 million pounds of food.” Andrés went on to say that he and his team will “make sure that nobody will go hungry,” until the situation in Ukraine “goes back to normal” following Russia’s invasion. 🇺🇦 FOR LATEST UKRAINE COVERAGE CLICK HERE In Other News...
