| Warm up your vocal cords, Classic Choir is back! And we are inviting you to sing with us again. This year ABC Classic and Gardening Australia have come together for a very special Classic Choir. Earlier this year we asked Gardening Australia presenter, musician, and Bundjalung man Clarence Slockee to write new lyrics relevant for our wide brown land, to an old favourite; Oh, Christmas Tree.
Oh Christmas Tree, Yerrbill (Sing) with Clarence, takes you on a journey around our beautiful country, exploring what Christmas time (and summertime) means to us. Along the way you will discover some of our hundreds of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages, describing just a taste of the seasons and plants from across the country. We hope this song may evoke your own special memories and ignite a passion to learn more about our First Nations languages, peoples and culture. From this Monday 25 July, it’s over to you! Why not give it a go? Learn the song, video yourself singing, and send it back to us here at ABC Classic to appear in one big online choir! You never know, you might see yourself on Gardening Australia’s Christmas Special in December! So; Kgarool Yerrbilehla Bundjalung All together singing Bundjalung (and many other languages) Bugalweena (Good Health), Clarence Slockee and Megan Burslem
