A rare chance to see Japan's leading orchestra live in London

Calling all culture vultures! Next Monday, the world-renowned NHK Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo makes its hotly-anticipated return to the capital. And whether you're a classical music aficionado, or simply curious about the genre, this dreamy programme is sure to delight.

Begin your evening being swept away by Takemitsu's How Slow the Wind — a swoon-worthy, Debussy-esque piece that emulates the movements of the breeze. This gives way to the passion of Schumann's Concerto for the Cello, led by acclaimed soloist Sol Gabetta, and the night ends with Rachmaninov's lush and lyrical Symphony No 2.

The concert kicks off at 7.30pm on 24 February inside Southbank Centre's Grade I-listed Royal Festival Hall. It's conductor Paavo Järvi's second major tour with NHK Symphony. Tickets start at just £15 — click below to get yours.
