Mojib Latif speaks about scientific communication and climate justice – and the measures that are needed now

| | | Edition 10 | 2022 | | Dear John Do, | | “The climate doesn’t care where CO2 is emitted; it has a global effect,” according to Professor Mojib Latif, the newly appointed head of the Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Hamburg. Climate change can only be halted through joint measures, he stressed in an interview with Hamburg News. Since early 2022, Latif has headed the academy with disciplines ranging from the humanities to the natural sciences and with emphasis on coronavirus and hydrogen. Environment-friendly hydrogen is central to the strategy adopted by the Ministry of Economics last Friday. Hamburg is now aiming to become a European green hydrogen hub by 2030.
