Closed primaries bill revived in regular session

BY JESSICA WILLIAMS | Capitol News Bureau Editor

Closed primaries: Allies of Gov. Jeff Landry are again trying to sunset Louisiana's 'jungle' primary system for state elections, after Landry suffered a defeat on that bill in his first special session, James Finn reports.

Landry opens regular: A program that gives families public money to pay for private schools, a rewrite of the state constitution, and other proposals are priorities of Landry's this regular session, he told lawmakers on Monday. Tyler Bridges has that story.

Horse racing: Historical horse racing, slot machine-like devices at race tracks that let gamblers bet on past horse races, is now illegal in Louisiana, a judge has ruled. Bridges shares why the games are outlawed, three years after lawmakers approved them.
