The Style Invitational

Dear Loser, Aspiring Loser or General Hanger-On:

Along with our Whichever-Or-None-At-All Holiday greetings, we bring you our almost annual Clue Us In reverse-crossword contest: We give you a filled-in grid (by Washington Post Crossword constructor Evan Birnholz) and you give us up to 25 clever, funny clues for any of the 72 words.

And we have the results from our contest for what you'd do with any of several given magical powers. Like shape-shifting: "I would turn myself into a Chihuahua during storms so my habit of piddling myself would seem more acceptable."

If you think you might enter the reverse-crossword contest -- and you should -- be sure to check out some further tips in my supplementary column, The Style Conversational, which also features a few super-power entries that didn't pass even the Invite's low-bar propriety test.
