CMS to lift freeze on health inspection star ratings, assign one-star for no RN onsite


CMS announced several updates to Nursing Home Compare (NHC) that will take place this April, including a removal of the freeze placed on health inspection star ratings instituted in February 2018. The freeze was placed to give all facilities a chance to be surveyed at least once under the new process. Beginning in April, consumers will be able to see the most up-to-date status of a facility’s compliance on NHC.

 

New SNF provider threshold report now available


The new Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Provider Threshold Report (PTR) is now available. This PTR is a user-requested, on demand report which enables users to obtain the status of their data submission completeness related to the compliance threshold required for the SNF Quality Reporting Program (QRP).

 

 

DOL seeks to raise salary requirements for overtime exemption with new rule

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) this week announced a proposed rule that would raise the minimum salary level required for employees to be exempt from overtime.

It is completed for Medicare Part A residents on admission and discharge. Beginning October 1, 2018, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has been collecting data not only on completion of Section GG, but on the resident’s outcomes.
