Learn how to host enjoyable and purpose driven meetings - 9 June


Calling members of Community Groups and Associations! Are you spending too much time in meetings? Want to make them more enjoyable and efficient?! 'Better Meetings’ is a free workshop that provides you with a few simple tricks to make sure your meetings are effective, enjoyable and efficient.

Workshop is scheduled for Wednesday 9 June (6.30-8.30pm) at Harvest Lakes Community Centre, 62 Aurora Drive Atwell.

Connecting women in Cockburn - 16 June

 
Cockburn women are invited to a networking evening featuring an inspirational talk on unleashing your inner ‘wise women’ to better lead yourself and be a positive influence in your community. Mingle with women from all walks of life who are involved in local community organisations or who want to be more connected to their community.
 
This event is scheduled for Wednesday 16 June 2021 (6.30-8.30pm) at a special location in the City. Invitations are going out this month! Email commdev@cockburn.wa.gov.au to make sure you receive an invitation to this event.

Volunteers wanted for the annual Clontarf Hill community planting day - 13 June


Roll up your sleeves, put on your hats and gardening gloves and come and join Friends of Clontarf Hill for their community planting day on Sunday 13 June 2021. Meet at the Clontarf Road side of the hill from 10am where they will be lighting up the barby for a post planting sausuage sizzle so hang around, there is always plenty for everyone and it's a great chance to meet the other people in the FoCH community. Please bring gloves, a hat, a spade, sturdy shoes and your friendly Sunday morning smiles.

Get your broken items fixed at a Repair Hub - in South Lake and Hamilton Hill 


Don't throw your things away! Take them to a Repair Hub. Volunteers can fix tools, bikes, phones, clothing, jewellery, and much more. If you have a skill you would like to share get in touch about becoming a volunteer.

SOUTH LAKE: The Repair Cafe Cockburn runs every second Sunday of the month at South Lake Ottey Family & Neighbourhood Center, 2 South Lake Drive in South Lake. The next event is on Sunday 9 May 2021 from 10am-12pm. Join the Facebook group by clicking on the button below! 
HAMILTON HILL: The Hamilton Hill Repair Hub operates from the The Hub 6163, 1 Starling Street in Hamilton Hill. The next event is on Sunday 16 May 2021 from 10am-12pm. Public question time at Council meetings

To ensure that as many people have the opportunity to have their say at Council meetings, there are some changes to the way Public Question Time is managed including the deadline being moved to 5pm the day before the Council meeting.
